Courses
If anybody wishes to take
up a course but is concerned about shifts, the Learning Agreement between ASLEF
and SWT means there is some flexibility to be able to get round this. SWT have
to look at movement of Free Days, flexible shift patterns etc. to accomodate
individuals undertaking courses. For more details see your Learning Rep.
ASLEF and Rail Union Learning are currently discussing with South West Trains Ltd the closure of the Open Learning Centres which are currently unstaffed and thus unavailable to staff and serving very little purpose.
The improvement of Depot facilties to to include 'Learning Zones' with Broadband access is also being discussed at this level.
Surrey County Council have offered £4000 for Cycle facilities following our participation in their 'Cycle to Work' scheme and discussions with Local Management are taking place on how best to use this money.
Keep your eye on the RUL notice board at Woking Depot (and this webpage) for future information, intiatives and events.
